RDA Debate Camp
Our debate camp is led by high school debaters with at least 4 years of debate experience. Students learn the basics of argumentation, including how to construct an argument, how to deliver an argument, and how to refute. As students learn concepts, they engage in practice debates to hone their skills.
No debate experience required (students will be split based on age and experience)

At the end of the camp, on July 14th, a debate tournament with MSPDP guidelines will be hosted.
RDA Political Engagement Camp
In our political engagement camp, students participate in an introductory course to American politics. This summer, students will learn the basics of American politics, discrimination in policy and law, and how to identify issues. Lastly, students will prepare and present a final project on an issue they care about and steps they can take to work towards a solution.

Winter 2022 Debate Camp
RDA held another two-week debate camp for 18 students. We had teachers Kathy Duan, Simon Xu, Leia Albornoz, and Allen Wan, each leading a group of 4-5 students, which were based on grade level and debate experience. Students learned in mini lesson groups with a teacher and came together for practice debates. A tournament followed the camp for students to put together what they learned throughout the camp.
Political Engagement Camp
RDA launched a one week political engagement for a total of 9 students. The aim of this course was to provide accessible political education and create more youth political engagement. Each day covered different topics, including the basics of American politics, polarization and the effects of social media, identifying key issues, and how to take action. On the last day, students were asked to present their final project on an issue they care about and steps they could take to help.
RDA held a two-week, beginner and advanced summer camp for 27 middle schoolers. Students learned the Middle Schools Public Debate Program and frequently debated. At the end of the camp, a tournament was held with 17 students.
